Snakes and Social Ladders

from TIRADE by TIRADE

about

Snakes and Social Ladders’ is about how hard it can be to make a genuine group of friends in a new place where it seems everyone is out to elevate themselves, rather than have a laugh. It’s kind of a letter of resignation from that whole situation, saying that we’d rather just stay in with a trusted group of mates.

lyrics

So that was fun, why the hell did I even come?
Just another excuse for cutting it loose, getting pissed out of your brain

I’m going home, lock the door and sit on my throne
Surrounded by last night’s pizza boxes, where only I can reign

Presiding under the covers
TV shows and games
Don’t need no others

Ode to all the vapid little fakers
Signed by the wasters
You’re keeping by your side
Oh to have a chance to take your orders
My very own disorder
I’ll think I’ll change the tide

Bought some new tunes, hope it isn’t making you fume
If I could equate the racket you make, you’d think I’d gone insane

I thought we’d get along but
Recent studies indicate that life is just a game
