The World Isn't on Your Side

from TIRADE by TIRADE

about

The World Isn’t On Your Side was intended to be about elitism in musicians who believe that their genre is in competition with other genres and above them, but it gradually turned into more of a self-reflective song.

lyrics

The world isn’t on your side
No breaks in the natural scheme of things
Just you, you’re all alone
Up-keeping your earthly ties
Unshaken, pre-emptively clipped your wings
Tied down, and set in stone

So you can keep dismissing, I’ll say it again
Closing your doors won’t make you better men
You’re in remission, I’ll stick with it if you’d like to wake up
And let in what you’ve ignored

Started out alright, never best bros
We tried our best though, hasty we set our goals
But when the time came, you made it a war game
You we’re fixed in your congregation

So you can keep dismissing, I’ll say it again
Closing your doors won’t make you better men
You’re in remission, I’ll stick with it if you’d like to wake up
And let in what
You’re a full grown minor, a ten out of ten
No riff or chord, that you can’t comprehend
It’s not a secret the world wasn’t built around you
Wake up, and let in what you’ve ignored

You, the one who cannot move
You know that you can’t lose
Who am I to criticise…
YOU!?

The world isn’t on your side
No breaks in the natural scheme of things
Well just you, you’re all alone
Well just you, all alone
